(RICHMOND) - The City of Richmond has provided an update to the FM 762 County Road Project, Fort Bend County’s mobility project to connect Richmond Parkway to Hwy 90-A, saying that work has begun on Richmond Parkway.
After experiencing a delay due to an issue with the base material, the contractor has moved on to the next step for this phase. An intersection is being reconstructed between Front St. and FM 762 which will have a traffic signal installed to improve traffic flow and safety on Richmond Parkway.
Fort Bend County Pct. 4 Commissioner Dexter McCoy expressed gratitude for the patience and understanding exhibited by the community during this phase of the construction. He shared the next phase after the Intersection reconstruction entails transforming Richmond Parkway from a two- lane road into a modern four-lane road to accommodate the growing needs of the community.
“The work is not complete yet, so we will ask for continued patience and understanding over the next six months as we watch this transformation of Richmond Parkway connecting to Jackson Street (Hwy. 90-A),” officials said.
