(ROSENBERG) – City of Rosenberg officials are warning residents about a phone scam involving the city’s municipal courts. Scammers have been contacting customers and impersonating personnel from Rosenberg Municipal Court requesting immediate payment for fines and citations.
“We would like to remind you that the City of Rosenberg does not call anyone requesting money or payment of any kind,” officials said. “If you receive a call from someone stating they are with the city, we strongly urge you to ask the caller detailed questions, never agree to payment, and never give out any personal information such as your Social Security Number, driver’s license, bank account or credit card information.”
Anyone who receives a questionable call requesting payment or anyone who has any questions regarding outstanding citations should call the Rosenberg Municipal Court directly at 832-595-3450.
Residents are able to pay a citation over the phone with the city’s automated system, in person or on the city’s website.
