Clements High School Student Named to International List of Top Science Students

(FORT BEND ISD) – Rich Wang, a Clements High School student, has been named to the Top 300 list of the Regeneron Science Talent Search for 2023 for his project entitled “Ending States of a Special Variant of the Chip-Firing Algorithm.” This is the nation’s oldest and one of the most prestigious science and math competition for high school students.

The 300 students were chosen from nearly 2,000 applicants from across the nation and four countries. With the honor, Wang and Clements will each receive a $2,000 cash prize.

Later this month, the top 40 students will be selected from among the 300 and named Regeneron Science Talent Search finalists. These students will then compete for more than $1.8 million in awards during a week-long competition in Washington, D.C. this spring.
