COH Boil Water Notice Lifted, Fort Bend County Residents Reporting Erroneous ‘Test Boil Water’ Alert

(FORT BEND COUNTY) – The Boil Water Notice for the City of Houston that affected a small portion of Fort Bend County, including several Fort Bend ISD Schools, has been lifted.

The Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management says a “Test Boil Water” alert received by some Fort Bend County residents was inaccurate and the alert should have read “Houston Boil Water Notice Lifted.”

“There is no restriction on water at this time in Fort Bend County,” said officials with the OEM.

Willowridge High School, Christa McAuliffe Middle School, and Ridgemont, Ridgegate, Briargate and Blue Ridge elementary schools were affected by the Boil Water Notice. Officials said students and staff were provided with bottled water Monday and adjustments were made to food service.

“We are happy to report the Boil Water Notice for the City of Houston has been lifted,” said FBISD officials. “Our water is once again safe to consume. We have begun flushing all our pipes and discarding ice from automatic machines to ensure all water and ice is ready for use once again. This should be a quick process. Additionally, our Child Nutrition team is taking extra steps to clean our cafeteria kitchen. Meal service will return to normal today although some menu items may change from what was previously planned.”
