(FORT BEND ISD)– Dulles High School’s Decathlon team won its record seventh state large school championship over the weekend, earning 50,640.1 points out of a possible 60,000.
The team will represent Fort Bend ISD and Texas at the United States Academic Decathlon Nationals, to be held in Frisco, Texas in April.
The team earned a combined $18,750 in scholarship awards. In addition to the team championship, DHS senior Jasmine Chou was named the Individual State Champion, with an individual score of 9,244.3 points out of a possible 10,000.
Academic Decathlon is a multi-test competition where nine-member student teams compete to test their knowledge on a single subject. This year’s theme is The American Revolution and the New Nation.
