Early Morning Altercation at Stafford Business Leads to Shooting Death

(STAFFORD) – A fight between two groups of people at a Safford business in the early hours of Saturday, Aug. 6 resulted in the shooting death of one of the participants.


According to Stafford police, around 2:36 a.m. police were called to the 12400 block of the U.S. 59 feeder road in reference to a shots fired call. When police arrived at Brenda’s Taqueria, witnesses told officers that there was an altercation between two groups of people that led to gunfire. Officers learned that both groups arrived separately but knew each other.


Police located a deceased male about 100 yards north of the business. He was identified as a part of one of the groups involved in the altercation and apparently ran from the business when the shooting was occurring. Stafford police have not identified the victim because his next of kin have not yet been notified.
