Family Escapes Early Morning House Fire in Missouri City

(MISSOURI CITY) – Missouri City Firefighters had a busy night with a residential structure fire that occurred in the early morning hours this morning in the 12000 block of Riva Ridge Lane. The first unit arrived to find a single-story home with heavy fire, extending towards a neighboring property with reports of a potential victim still inside of the home.

The missing family member was found outside and uninjured several minutes later. Despite the challenging conditions, firefighters were successful in limiting the damage to the neighboring residence and preventing further spread.

“We express our deepest sympathies to the families impacted,” said officials with Missouri City Fire and Rescue. “Losing a home is devastating, and we are thankful there was no loss of life.”

The cause of the fire is under active investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Division.

“We're immensely grateful for the tireless efforts of all of our firefighters that responded including The Stafford Fire Department and The Houston Fire Department,” officials said. “The scene was released to the homeowner and all units have returned to service.”
