FBISD’s Career and Technical Education Department to Hold Events to Benefit Student-Run Businesses

(FORT BEND ISD)– Fort Bend ISD’s Career and Technical Education Department will hold

events the second Saturday each month to spotlight the district’s student-run businesses.

Beginning Saturday, Sept. 10, the community is invited to visit the Enterprise Learning Labs at the James Reese Career and Technical Center, 12300 University Blvd. in Sugar Land, from 9 a.m. to noon. The September event will showcase services provided by The Shop and The Grill.


The Grill at The Reese Center


Culinary Arts students will host a cooking class for students in prekindergarten through fifth grade and a parent. Attendees will learn to prepare cookie dough they can take home. Families will also receive eight ready-made cookies to decorate. The event has a maximum of 20 students. Registration is required and a credit card payment will be collected the door. Parents must accompany their children. Register now.


The Shop at The Reese Center


Students will provide state inspections, oil changes, and tire rotations and balancing. Schedule your service.


Enterprise Learning Labs function as community accessible businesses that provide students real-world experience and offers community members services at reasonable rates. Students operate the businesses under the supervision of lab managers; services offered increase in complexity throughout the school year as students gain additional knowledge and skills.
