FBISD Schools Receive Donation from Office Depot for School Supplies

(FORT BEND ISD) – Six Fort Bend ISD elementary schools each received $4,000 for supplies, totaling $24,000, thanks to a donation from the Fort Bend Education Foundation and Office Depot.

The schools were Fleming, Jones, Mission West, Parks, Ridgegate and Townewest elementary schools.

“We are so grateful, so happy and we look forward to a long partnership with Office Depot,” said Education Foundation Executive Director Brenna Cosby.

Campus and district leaders were on hand to thank store staff for their kindness to the district, including Deputy Superintendent Beth Martinez and executive directors Ida Ford, Rhonda Mason and Wendy Nunez.

“We just want to say thank you,” Martinez said. “The smiles alone

and the positive energy are the cherry on top of the donations, hard work and passion that it took for you all to do what you have done for Fort Bend ISD.”

In addition to the donation, campus leaders received supplies during the event and one member of each school team received a new desk chair.

Funds were collected at store locations across the greater Houston area, and Office Depot staff members from multiple locations were in attendance, including the regional and district manager. The six FBISD schools are among 70 Title 1 campuses across the country that will benefit from the generosity of Office Depot and Office Max shoppers and clients and the FBISD Education Foundation.
