(FORT BEND ISD) – Fort Bend ISD is hosting three community information sessions this month on the Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election, which will generate additional revenue for the district while sustaining the current tax rate.
During its Aug. 22 regular business meeting, the FBISD Board of Trustees approved the Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election which the district says will fund police officers at every elementary campus, increase employee compensation and maintain educational programs of choice. The VATRE will appear on the ballot in the upcoming Nov. 8 election.
The information sessions will give community members an opportunity to receive detailed information about the VATRE and ask any questions they may have.
Spanish translators will be available at all three sessions. A sign language interpreter will be available at the Sept. 26 session held at Dulles High School’s Rodgers Auditorium.
Below are the VATRE community information session dates and locations:
The first session is Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Austin High School in the auditorium, 3434 Pheasant Creek Drive in Sugar Land.
The second session is Monday, Sept. 26 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Dulles High School’s Rodgers Auditorium, 550 Dulles Avenue in Sugar Land.
