(FORT BEND ISD) –The Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees has named several individuals to leadership positions within the district.
Dr. Rhonda Mason was named the Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Schools and the Early Childhood Program at the board meeting on Monday. She currently serves as Executive Director of Schools in Fort Bend ISD.
Mason received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Sam Houston State University, her Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Texas at Arlington, and her Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University, where she was named Sam Houston State University’s Distinguished Educator of the Year. Mason has a strong background in leadership, literacy, and service to English Language learners in elementary and secondary education. She is a Fort Bend ISD parent and says she is honored to serve her community in this new role.
Coby Wilbanks was recently named Fort Bend ISD’s General Counsel and in the role, he will provide legal advice and guidance to the district while ensuring compliance with regulations. He previously served as Fort Bend ISD's associate general counsel and brings a wealth of legal and educational experience to his new role, said district officials.
Wilbanks earned his law degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and his bachelor's degree from East Texas Baptist University. Prior to joining Fort Bend ISD, Wilbanks served as General Counsel in Nacogdoches ISD. His background also includes experience working as a special education and speech teacher.
Lisa Langston has been named Executive Director of Student Affairs for Fort Bend ISD. She currently serves as principal at Malala Elementary and prior to that she was principal at Oyster Creek and Goodman elementary schools.
Langston received a Master of Education in Educational Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from Old Dominion University in Virginia. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Abilene Christian University. Langston first joined Fort Bend ISD from Virginia Beach City School District in 2007 to serve as the assistant principal at Palmer Elementary.
Amber Williams was recently named Executive Director of Human Resources for Fort Bend ISD. She joins the district from AMW Business Consulting, bringing an extensive background in human resources, talent management and leadership/organizational development programs.
Williams holds a master’s degree from the University of Houston at Clear Lake and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
