Fort Bend ISD Receives State Award for Theatrical Excellence

(FORT BEND ISD) – Fort Bend ISD has earned a Texas Educational Theatre Association “Awards of Distinction-Outstanding Level” for its “commitment to theatrical excellence and dedication to the educational growth of its students.”

Fort Bend ISD represents a consistent commitment to fostering supportive learning environments, promoting a culture of achievement, and pursuing excellence that has impacted the lives of countless students, the association said.

“Our fine arts program is second to none, and I say that not only as the superintendent but also as a fan of the productions I have had the pleasure of attending,” FBISD Superintendent Dr. Christie Whitbeck said. “I am so proud of every staff member who works extremely hard and with loads of passion to train, direct and inspire our students on the stage and in the classroom.”

The Awards of Distinction program was created to recognize the theater departments of colleges, universities and school districts that demonstrate exceptionally high standards for theater education through achievement, curation of resources, diversity, and advocacy for theater arts.

Fort Bend ISD will be recognized at the annual Texas Educational Theatre Association's awards ceremony in Galveston next month.
