(FORT BEND ISD) – About 200 student athletes and coaches representing every Fort Bend ISD high school and sports program worked together to build beds for foster children at Fort Bend ISD’s annual athletics leadership summit Wednesday.
Athletes and their coaches constructed the wooden beds which were then wrapped and prepped for distribution to foster families via the Fort Bend Rainbow Room.
The leadership event kicks off a year-long effort to develop character and leadership skills in FBISD’s student athletes who have been identified as campus leaders. This year’s theme is “IMPACT through Leadership.”
Students were encouraged to continue service projects on their own campuses with their teammates.
