(FORT BEND COUNTY) – The Fort Bend County Pct. 1 Constable’s Office is warning residents about a fraudulent text alert purporting to be from CenterPoint Energy. The text apparently indicates that power outages will occur tonight and asks customers to click on a link for more information.
“This message is fraudulent, and you should not click on this malicious link,” said representatives of Pct. 1 Constable’s Office.
CenterPoint Energy is the energy provider for the region, regardless of who residents pay for electricity.
