(KATY) – A 21-year-old Houston man has been arrested and charged with murder relating to a 2019 home invasion that resulted in the death of the homeowner.
On Oct. 16, 2019, at approximately 12:05 a.m., Fort Bend County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 6900 block of Glen Rosa Drive in Katy, Texas regarding a disturbance at a residence. Upon arrival, investigators confirmed that a window was broken by an intruder, which woke the family up. The homeowner, Brenton Estorfee, 29, was shot to death in front of his family while confronting the intruder. The victim was protecting his wife and children.
After further investigation, detectives learned the identity of the suspect for the murder of Estorfee.
With the assistance of the Gulf Coast Violence Offenders Task Force, the suspect, Jadon Carpy, was arrested on Feb. 23 at his residence in Houston.
Carpy was taken into custody at the Fort Bend County Jail and is charged with murder. His bond is set at $350,000.
“Another life was taken away so tragically in the hands of a criminal,” said Sheriff Eric Fagan. “Although we cannot bring Mr. Estorfee back to his family, the tireless efforts of our investigators to identify the suspect in the case don’t go unnoticed.”
