(ROSENBERG) – When Rosenberg Animal Shelter’s featured adoptable dog Casper was found as a stray 36 days ago, he was confused, scared and unsure of people. Casper is three years old and has been at the shelter for five weeks. He is neutered, vaccinated and has started treatment for heartworms. His adoption fee is waived.
He had the privilege of being with two foster families during the winter freeze storm and here is what they had to say about Casper:
“If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, a forever companion, Casper is your guy. He’s simply amazing, he does really well with kids of all ages. We have four kids and no matter how much chaos is going on around him it doesn’t phase him at all. He’s super sweet and super gentle. He doesn’t bark, doesn’t jump, won’t even go upstairs in your house. He wouldn’t get on our sofa until we invited him. He knows commands and is 100 percent potty trained. He loves to go on walks and loved going on runs with my son as well. He is content in whatever setting you put him in. He can sunbathe all day, sit next to you all day or is totally willing to go on all day adventures if you wanted.
He isn’t phased at all—doesn’t matter if someone is at the door, new people come around —he just casually walks up to them for them to pet him. Because at the end of the day that’s all he wants. To be loved. He’s not a runner, if he gets out, just call him back to you and he will listen to you. He is extremely smart. If we could have kept him we would have but my 16-year-old old shih tzu wasn’t having it—my kids talk about him every day. We will never have another Casper. We love him so much and only want him to find the best family who will love him as much as we did.”
If you are interested in meeting Casper you can stop by the shelter at 1207 Blume Rd, which is open from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
