Monkeypox Case Confirmed at FBISD’s Ridge Point High School

(FORT BEND ISD) – According to Fort Bend ISD officials a student at Ridge Point High School has a confirmed case of Monkeypox as of Monday, Aug. 29. Fort Bend County Health and Human Services is investigating the case. Families and employees at Ridge Point High School were notified of the case.


According to the district, Fort Bend County epidemiologists are conducting contact tracing to identify potential exposures based on proximity and will notify individuals directly if they are at risk.


“The district will continue to work with local health officials and follow guidelines set by the CDC, and this includes the frequent and ongoing cleaning protocols in place to prevent the spread of infectious diseases,” officials said. “In addition, the district utilizes R-Zero ARC disinfecting devices at every campus and facility.”
