(FORT BEND ISD) – Fort Bend ISD’s pre-K program has slots available for immediate enrollment at 10 of its campuses. Many parents may qualify to enroll their child for free.
Pre-K slots are available at Burton, Drabek, Fleming, Holley, Hunters Glen Early Literacy Center, Mission Bend-Glen, Reese Early Education Lab, Ridgemont Early Literacy Center, Sugar Mill, and Townewest elementary schools.
Seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. The program is full day from 8 a.m. to 3:25 p.m. Space is limited.
CIRCLE assessment results for FBISD’s pre-K students show that 91 percent are prepared for kindergarten level math, and 86 percent excel in early literacy.
Who Can Enroll?
Children who turn four years old on or before September 1, 2023, and live in Fort Bend ISD may enroll.
By meeting income and other family requirements, children may qualify to attend the full day program for free.
Qualifications are listed here in FBISD’s PreK Family Handbook, which also includes instructions for registering your child for school on pages 5-19. FBISD also offers tuition-based pre-K for students who do not qualify for free enrollment. For more information on that, visit our website: www.fortbendisd.com/prek.
All FBISD pre-K teachers are certified by the State of Texas and receive specialized Early Childhood professional training throughout the school year. There are two instructors in every classroom with a student-adult ratio of 11 to 1. English and Spanish bilingual instruction is offered.
