(SUGAR LAND) - The Sugar Land Police Department is partnering with the Fort Bend ISD Police Department to ensure the safety of children in elementary school zones.
“Our residents have told us that speeding and school zone safety is a priority, and we’re listening,” said representatives of the department.
As part of SLPD’s Safe School Initiative, starting Feb. 21, through Feb. 24, residents will see an increased visibility of SLPD officers in elementary school zones making sure motorists are following the laws that keep students safe. You can be a part of the solution by:
slowing down;
coming to a complete stop at stop signs;
following traffic signs;
being on the look-out for pedestrians;
not blocking intersections or driveways; and
following the direction of crossing guards
