Sugar Land Animal Shelter’s Longest Residents Looking for Homes of Their Own

(SUGAR LAND) – Bogart, Java and Beckenbauer are currently the longest residents at the Sugar Land animal shelter and are in desperate need of a family and home of their own.

Bogart is a four-year-old lab/Staffordshire terrier mix. He has been at the shelter since March

Bogart

of 2021. According to staff at the shelter, he knows a few commands like sit, and shake. His favorite toys are anything with stuffing. He gets along with most other dogs but is not a fan of cats. He loves hoping up on the bench for pets and showing off his tricks.

Java

Java is a three-year-old tan Staffordshire terrier mix. He has been at the shelter since February of 2021. He is a volunteer and staff favorite. One of his favorite things to do is roll in the grass and play with new toys. He would do best in a home without other dogs. He is very treat-motivated

and knows lots of commands.

Beckenbauer

Beckenbauer is a seven-year-old Staffordshire terrier mix. He

has been at the shelter since July of 2021. He loves his favorite blue ball and can tire himself out playing in the backyard. He walks well on the leash and know basic commands (for a jerky treat). He just recently made his first dog friend and loves it, according to staff. He would do best with a slow introduction to another dog in the home.

Anyone interested in adopting one of the dogs can stop by the shelter at 101-B Gillingham Lane in Sugar Land. For questions, call the shelter at 281-275-2364.
