(SUGAR LAND) – The Sugar Land Police Department has released some tips to deter package theft during the holiday season.
“There are porch pirates everywhere, and they are always watching to see what delivery they can steal from your front porch,” said police.
Sugar Land police say to follow these tips to help protect your online purchases:
Schedule your deliveries
Ask a trusted neighbor to grab them for you
Sign up for tracking alerts
Request deliveries to be placed in secure locations, such as the side of the house, the back porch, an Amazon locker or your workplace.
