(SUGAR LAND) – The Sugar Land Animal Shelter is in desperate need of help from the community after more than 129 cats were taken from a hoarding case in the Lakefield subdivision. More cats are expected to be removed from the house today.
Currently 64 cats are being held at Duhacsek Park, with all others at the shelter. Staff members have been reaching out to other shelters and rescue groups in the region and the state but say most are already over capacity.
Anyone willing to foster or adopt a cat, or who knows of any rescue agencies with available space, should contact the shelter at 281-275-ADOG or come by the shelter at 101B Gillingham Lane.
