(SUGAR LAND) – The City of Sugar Land's new solid waste contract with Republic Services goes into effect on Monday, Jan. 16.
There are several neighborhoods in the city that will be experiencing service day changes. Residents can search their address to see their service days here: https://bit.ly/FindMyServiceDay.
Bulky waste will also transition to a new on-call service. Households that were on the third Monday bulky waste pickup schedule should not have their bulky waste out Monday. The new schedule allows residents to schedule 12 bulky waste collections per year. Beginning Monday, residents can request a bulky waste pickup by visiting www.republicservices.com/municipality/sugar-land-tx, via email at sugarland@republicservices.com, or by calling Republic at 713-726-7307.
Residents who choose to bag their green waste will now need to use clear bags. Residents do not have to bag their green waste, it can also be set out in a personal container.
Trash collection will continue to occur twice a week as well as once a week green waste and recycling collections.
