(KATY) – Avenue D in Katy is closed in both directions from Lilac St. to Village Green Dr. due to an underground electrical fire and gas leak. The closure was announced around 2 p.m.
The Katy Fire Department and Katy Police Department are on scene to manage the situation and ensure residents' safety. They have completed the evacuation of the homes closest to the source of the fire and are working to contain the situation.
CenterPoint Energy is on location to address the gas leak.
